چکیده
Abstract IoT edge computing is a new paradigm “in the domain” for performing calculations and processing at of network, closer to user source data. This relatively recent, and, together with cloud fog computing, there may be some confusion about its meaning implications. paper aims help practitioners researchers better understand what industry thinks is, expected benefits challenges associated this paradigm. We conducted survey using semi-structured in-depth questionnaire collect qualitative data from relevant stakeholders 29 multinational companies qualitatively analyzed these Constructivist Grounded Theory (Charmaz) method. Several participated in coding process (collaborative coding). To ensure consensus on constructs that support theory thus improve rigor research, we an intercoder agreement analysis. From analysis, have derived substantive analytic perceive challenges. The scope validity refers surveys processed it analyzes “what is” rather than explaining causality or attempting predictive generalizations. A public repository all related information capture products resulting analysis publicly available. study strengthen evidence making informed decisions why are adopting current they face. Additionally, testing phase shows results aligned ISO/IEC TR 30164 standard.

The ongoing development of the fifth-generation (5G) wireless technologies takes place in a unique landscape of recent advancement in information processing, marked by the emerging prevalence of cloud-based computing and smart mobile devices. These two technologies complement each other by design, with cloud servers providing the engine for computing and smart mobile devices naturally serving a...
متن کاملDependability in Edge Computing
Edge computing is the practice of placing computing resources at the edges of the Internet in close proximity to devices and information sources. This, much like a cache on a CPU, increases bandwidth and reduces latency for applications but at a potential cost of dependability and capacity. This is because these edge devices are often not as well maintained, dependable, powerful, or robust as c...
متن کاملFog Computing Pushing Intelligence to the Edge
Cloud computing is a delivery platform which promises a new way of accessing and storing personal as well as business information. It provides resources to its users through the Internet. But it also has a risk that is the involvement of a third party which makes it difficult to trust that user data is secure enough and will not be misused. To provide security, new technology called Fog computi...
متن کاملWireless Powered Cooperation-Assisted Mobile Edge Computing
This paper studies a mobile edge computing (MEC) system in which two mobile devices are energized by the wireless power transfer (WPT) from an access point (AP) and they can offload part or all of their computation-intensive latency-critical tasks to the AP connected with an MEC server or an edge cloud. This harvest-then-offload protocol operates in an optimized timedivision manner. To overcome...

In this paper, we propose a Mobile Edge Internet of Things (MEIoT) architecture by leveraging the fiber-wireless access technology, the cloudlet concept, and the software defined networking framework. The MEIoT architecture brings computing and storage resources close to Internet of Things (IoT) devices in order to speed up IoT data sharing and analytics. Specifically, the IoT devices (belongin...
